Not trying to jump the line of support here. I understand this is a release issue and is being worked on. But figured I’d link my recent post as well. Title is wrong as it was initially thought to just be a database issue, but I see now that it’s related to this.

Thanks

Are you still getting crashes?
Could you upload fresh logs

Can you see if these files still exist within
C:\Users\vivanred\AppData\Local\Temp

Hello!

I have the same problem as you.

I want to downgrade but my libraries appear empty.

If you get lucky, would you mind letting me know how you solved it?

Thanks alot! Ricardo

@crazy_apprentice I upgraded again and let Tautulli trigger a ‘restart plex’ script when I got deadlocks. Updated to the latest beta 2 days ago and haven’t had any deadlocks since. Fingers crossed :crossed_fingers:

You mean the new x64 version?

@crazy_apprentice 1.28.0.5999 plexpass beta hotfix

The current beta has fixes that may resolve crashes and lockouts/hangs - it was released on Friday - version 1.28.0.5999

Please wait for this beta to be released as a public release and upgrade to it and let me know if the issues persist after that upgrade providing debug server logs as before

In the meantime, please look for these files in %TEMP% and if found, zip and attach -

I will keep them in event of the issue not getting resolved after the update to 1.28.0.5999 or later

@Malcolm_John the latest beta for Plex Media Server - version 1.30.1 has a fix for a deadlock that your server encountered in October - related logs were those captured on 31 October 2022

See release notice

  • (Bandwidth) Server could become unresponsive under certain timing conditions (#13951)

I updated my plex with update PlexMediaServer-1.30.1.6497-5fc2e0894-x86_64_DSM7.spk on a synology 1515+. With this update the problem returned of shutting plex down each night. Have to start it each morning. I have another Synology DS918 updated to same update, does not crash. The 1515 had not been crashing since last year. This update reintroduced the crashing.

Would need debug server logs captured after the crash to start looking into this. Plex Media Server crash detection would try to create a mini dump file and upload it to our back end system for crash reporting - this does not always succeed - the minidump gets copied to where $TMPDIR points to and from the logs zip we can identify what file to look for within there - file would need to be located and zipped and attached - i will then look into the crash

$TMPDIR might be here
/var/packages/PlexMediaServer/shares/PlexMediaServer/AppData/tmp/

I can confirm it from the logs

Here are the 1515 plex logs

Hi, just applied it to both my servers since i’m getting again deadlocks per day.

I’m yet to try if this has something to do with using igpu / Nvidia or not. Seems to happen more when transcode via gpu is used.

Thank You

Can you access this folder on the Synology box
/var/packages/PlexMediaServer/shares/PlexMediaServer/AppData/tmp

and copy out these 3 dmp files and zip and attach please

53e73bc9-12a1-4cea-99d5b6b3-69d64911.dmp

I think we do now include the .dmp filename extension - but check for with and without

Thanks
