I have plex setup to record I’m a celebrity get me out of here on ITV in the UK from the program guide.
However for each episode that it records for me it keeps allocating that episode to the Australian version of the show, not the UK version.
I have to manually click fix match and change each episode as they record back to UK show, so they are indexed correctly.
This is obviously a bug that needs fixing for shows that have the same name but come in different flavours around the world!
I suspect I would have same issue with big brother or x factor too, the TV show matching needs to be location based, not just pick the top most entry returned from TV database etc.
Thanks
S.
I attached two pictures on previous post to highlight the issue, the fix match screen shows the Australian show at the top of the list (2015), where as the UK show is the next one down (2002), which is why I believe Plex keeps picking the wrong match each time a recording is captured.
Server Version Windows 1.11.0.4633
Can Plex support please investigate?
I’ve seen the same issue with The Apprentice (UK) automatically getting matched to The Apprentice (IE). Fixing the match for every episode as it records is the only way I know to fix it but is tedious and not a full fix. Hope someone can help with a full fix or workaround. As both shows started the same year, the year doesn’t help in that example. Perhaps the EPG data can be used to automatically add the country code (e.g. “UK”) into the series name or something so Plex knows which country to match it to? Or if not the EPG data, perhaps a setting in the DVR setup for setting the country for recordings instead so it knows which country to match to when there are duplicates with same name?
Are Plex looking into this issue please?

I had the same issue, got fed up in the end after seeing how annoying the candidates were this year and just stopped recording it
But yeah annoying issue.
Just wish Plex support would update this post with acknowledgment of the issue and inform us if they have a plan to remedy it.
