Guys it’s normal that on my PS3, whatching a video in “original 1080p 8mb/s” it will lag sometimes for 1 sec?
the video is an mkv (mpeg h264 with A52 aka AC3 audio).
If I use 720p 4MBps it wil instantly works fine
up, no one can help?
I think that the Plex for PS3 can play 720p at 8Mbps at an effective rate.
Content matching the following can usually be Direct Played:
Container: MP4 Resolution: 1920x1080 or smaller ( PS3 has a max of 1280x720 ) Video Encoding: H.264 (level 4.0 or lower) Audio Encoding: AAC Bitrate: 20Mbps or lower

While content up to 20Mbps will be allowed and you can adjust your settings as such, exceeding the recommended 8Mbps setting may result in poor playback.
Try going into your Plex App setting and put it to 720p 8 Mbps or 720p 2Mbps. See if that makes a difference.
I can’t find 720 8mbps, only 4 
Hmm, I just checked my Plex Ps3 App, and you are correct. I don’t see the 720p 8Mbps option only the 720p 4Mbps option.
Maybe the 8Mbps mentioned in the FAQ is for Ps4 only, I unfortunately do not currently own a Ps4 so I cant test that.
720p at 4Mbps should be fine for Ps3, If not then try lowering it to 3Mbps, 2Mbps 720p Options.
