Issue:
Plex Media Server redirects to the wrong library when browsing actors or collections.
Summary:
I need some help with a weird issue I’m facing with Plex on my TV and the web version. I provide more details below, but basically, it goes like this: I have separate libraries for 4K and 1080p movies. When browsing my 4K library, selecting an actor and viewing their movies redirects to the 1080p library, even though 4K versions exist in the same library. This means that even though I can see the movie I wish to watch, I am forced to navigate back to the 4K library just to get the desired quality. Additionally, when finishing a movie within a collection in the 4K library, selecting another movie in the collection presents options from the 1080p library instead of the current 4K library. Again, this means that I have to navigate back to the 4K library to watch the desired quality. This issue occurs in the web version of Plex, not just the LG TV app.

Server: Plex Media Server running in a Docker container on TrueNAS Scale

OS: Linux 6.6.44-production+truenas
Primary Client: LG OLED TV (G3)
Model: OLED77G3PUA
webOS Version: 8.4.0
Plex App Version: 5.90.1
Libraries:
Movies XL (4K): For personal use, pinned on my TV app and web version of plex. Contains primarily 4K Remux movies.
Movies L (1080p): Shared with family and friends, containing primarily 1080p movies. Not pinned on my tv app or on web version of plex.
TV Shows: Mixed resolution library, pinned on my TV app and web version of plex. Also, shared with family and friends.
Detailed Issue:
Despite pinning only Movies XL and TV Shows to my LG TV app:

When I finish watching a movie in Movies XL and select another entry from a collection under the watched movie, it directs me to the 1080p version from Movies L, instead of remaining within Movies XL, and presenting me with the 4K version in Movies XL.

Using the search feature on the TV app, searching by movie title correctly presents both 1080p and 4K versions. However, when searching by actor name, only results from Movies L (1080p) and TV Shows are shown—no results from Movies XL.

Clicking an actor’s picture from within a movie in Movies XL lists only content from Movies L. This behavior occurs even though Movies L is not pinned, and I am navigating exclusively within Movies XL.
This behavior is consistent across both the web version of Plex and the LG TV app, which makes it even more frustrating to use.
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Library Settings:
Confirmed that Movies XL is set to display on the search and home screens.
- Platform Migration:
Previously ran Plex in Kubernetes on an earlier TrueNAS version. I installed a fresh Plex instance on the latest TrueNAS Scale with Docker. I migrated the plex media files and the issue persisted.
- Library Recreation:
Deleted and recreated the Movies XL library. Even named the new library Movies X. The issue persisted.
- Database Reversion:
Restored the database from a backup (one month old). The problem remained, indicating the issue existed earlier, or that the issue may not be related to the database. Not sure.
- Separate Plex Installation:
Installed Plex on a different machine with a new library. Searching by actor worked correctly, confirming that the issue is isolated to my existing Plex setup and database.
