This works great. I have one option request. Isn’t there some way to allow us to set the default Movies and TV storage options for recording? It always tries to default to my libraries that store my movies and tv collection, as opposed to the DVR location I specifically setup for it.
Suggest you test a bit more and look at the 18+ month old threads about basic DVR 101 failures and guide issues. What clients are you using? For the majority of clients (based on released market penetration numbers) the product doesn’t reliably work as a DVR and the guide is often inaccurate due to a switch in providers last June.
If you are running on a current server, you can do this. Plex fixed a ton of DVR issues over past few months. You can tell the DVR what library you want it to store the videos. I have a recorded-tv, movies and tv-shows libraries that are all separate from each other. When I record TV, Plex places the files (tv shows, movies and sports) into the recorded-tv library with no issues.
Yes I know. It’s set recording by recording, I want a place to set the DVR location as a default so I don’t have to constantly override the default location, which is apparently your first defined Movie and or TV location. I don’t want to have to explain to my family that they have to override it every time so they don’t polluted my collected movie and tv locations with stuff randomly selected to record.
This has nothing to do with the guide. The DVR seems to work fine. I just have some niggling concerns with the settings, that’s all.
I said seems. And what difference does it make to you if I’m okay with it at this point except for my one issue with default storage location?
