I initially encountered a similar issue and tried a tip from other posts that cured the issue. I was getting an incomplete channel list and had difficulty viewing channels.
The issue was cured by replacing the power supply. It seems like the HDHR power supplies (i.e., the power cords w/ wall warts) go bad over time and need to be replaced. The replacement was ~$15 from SiliconDust.
THIS WORKED!!!
Thank you very much for the suggestion. I found an old OTA antenna and connected it via coax to the second input on my HDHR-US and now I can view all of the channels seamlessly using Plex (including iOS plex app, xbox, desktop computer, etc.).
Thanks a million!
You can almost hook anything up to the antenna ports on the HDHR-US and receive something if you under 50 miles from the TV station’s transmitter. If you have a piece of coax with a connector on it, you can simply remove 6" of the outer jacket from the non-connector end. Slide the shielding braid back over the cable towards the connector and strip the inner insulation away from the center conductor and you’ve made yourself a simple dipole antenna that for me worked nearly as well as an OTA specific antenna. Here’s a picture of what I made. I wrapped the braid I’d folded back over the cable with black electricians tape.
