Plex loses ability to match movies

Server Version#:1.40.2.8395-c67dce28e
Player Version#:N/A

I don’t recall when it first started but, when adding new movies, Plex won’t match the movie. I’ll web into my server, try to match and it will just say can’t find match.

Through trial and error of different things, I went to settings and general and it said my version was 1.40.2.8395 and there was an update and to install manually. There is no update as this is the same version as shown on Plex website.

I re-downloaded the plexmediaserver_1.40.2.8395-c67dce28e_amd64.deb file, used dpkg -i to re-install and it fixed the issue, or so I thought.

Today, it happened again. It didn’t find a match for a movie, I went to settings, general and said I was running 1.40.2.8395 and that there was an update and to install manually. Re-downloaded, re-installed using dpkg -i and the problem is fixed.

Is this a known bug with this release? If not a known bug, I hereby proclaim a possible bug .

May I please have a tar.gz / Server DEBUG log files ZIP ?

Not a bug but there is something afoot

I apologize for the delay,

I hope this is what you need. Verbose is turned off. Settings>Troubleshooting>Download Logs

Thanks for the logs.

You have a DNS lookup failure. It cannot resolve plex.tv

Which is weird, because I can resolve it, and my DNS resolver wasn’t down. If it were, I wouldn’t have been able to make the oringinal post .

But, now I do know what to look for if this happens again. I simply moved the items Plex hadn’t identified out of my library directories, instructed Plex to scan libraries and remove them, move them back and re-scan and Plex found them correctly.

Thanks for looking into this!

Are you connecting to the forum using the machine which is the plex server ?

It’s showing:
