Can't match new media

Server Version#: Version 1.23.1.4571
Player Version#: Version 4.57.4

Hi, I have noticed that my plex server is not matching any new movies at all!!!
I am trying to match this Quantum of Solace (2008) movie, but apparently it is not working.
I am attaching both the verbose and non-verbose logs.
I am attaching some screenshots of my settings
It is weird, but apparently when I try to search for a new movie to match, plex only gives me the PLEX MOVIE option. Last time I checked I believe I also had the PERSONAL MEDIA and THE MOVIE DATABASE i think??
Is there anything I am missing?

Thanks

It seems your server fails to resolve the URL of Plex backend (plex.tv). Among other issues in your log this is causing the failing matches.

Have you recently changed your network setup – e.g. the DNS server?
Any other components that might interfere with Plex looking up the metadata?

Edit: completely unrelated… but maybe helpful in the long run… you might want to add .../Videos/Movies/sea4tb/ to your library, not .../Videos/Movies/ (this should help avoid some hiccups where Plex might get mixed up with the additional folder levels

the new agent is completely different code than the older ones can cannot work in the same library is why you don’t have the other choices. the new agent gets data from them anyway.

When trying to do the fix match for quantam of solace does the menu item say “match” or “fix match”

would be helpful to see the Plex Media Scanner Matcher.log after to trying to match.

In your server log see a bunch of

which is usually DNS or some other type of similar issue.

As you can see in the picture I am attaching right now, it says MATCH, not FIX MATCH

I am also attaching the log file after I click on MATCH and search for QUANTUM OF SOLACE, I instantly get NO MATCHES FOUND, there isn’t even a delay for the search, it’s so quick it doesn’t even seem to be searching for anything, it simply gives me a NO MATCHES FOUND right away

I have 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 listed for DNS servers on my router (Google’s DNS servers)

there was this fix in a more recent version of server. Looking at bug report it does seem like it effected various linux distros

that looks like another log from server not the scanner matcher one. But I think updating server would likely be best right now to see if that fix from current server resolves issue.

You could try going here in browser https://plex.tv/media/providers?X-Plex-Token=YOURTOKENHERE putting in your own token it should take you to an xml of our various providers.

info on how to find token here. Finding an authentication token / X-Plex-Token | Plex Support ( never share token publicly it will be in the XML)

I am having a horrible time getting Plex to match. Trying a new install on Ubuntu. Match doesn’t work for any movie added. Just spins, “No matches found.” There is one movie in the library.

I have uninstalled and installed multiple times.

I’m having the same god damn issue. I was able to match stuff earlier, and now I cannot.

I am seeing other people on here and Reddit saying the same. You guys need to look into this something is broken all of a sudden.

EDIT: The only thing I have done today is update Plex sever. I am on the public channel. Going to roll it back now and see if I can match again.

glad I’m not the only one. appreciate the anger!

I think the plex server went down a few hours ago. This just started for me today too so I am guessing it is a centralized failure and not any one of our install’s problem

Ditto here, just spent a few hours trying to debug this issue but to no avail. Even tried uninstalling my server which made things even worse, because now I have absolutely no metadata at all. Hopefully this gets fixed soon, and also hope there’s some way to report incidents or outages like these if the solution was only to wait and not waste time debugging upstream issues…

Dang you guys seem to be right. KHAAAAAN.

For everyone that might be hitting the metadata endpoint in the United States: I was able to fix my library by VPN’ing into the United Kingdom to presumably access the European metadata endpoint.

This significantly helped with repopulating my recreated Plex library: before it was timing out while scanning each file but finished quickly once I was on VPN.

Looks like some are up now . not sure when all will be up.

Sorry :man_shrugging:
