Since Plex last update (1.9.1.4272), the subtitle disappears after 1~2 minutes playing the video. This happens to me with downloaded subtitle or subtitle got by Opensubtitle native plugin on Plex. I think it’s not hardware issue: i5 7500 16GB ram DDR4 2400MHz HDD 1TB 7200RPM (with 150gb free)

PMS 1.18.0 is now available to all users. It includes the subtitle fixes mentioned in this thread. Please download it from https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/

i figured out what the problem was about losing subtitle when playing you have to go to settings video then put burn subtitles on always normally it’s on automaticly if you change it to always pres safe button the subtitles wil not disapear anymore

If you install this build here Subtitles stop working after a short time in MKV - #80 by chrisallen the subtitles will always work, even without burning :wink:

ye i know but i have alot of tv shows movies etc not going to rescan evrything again just changing the setting from burnsubtitle to always from automaticly isn’t a big deal

You don’t need to redo your setup. Just install that version on top of your existing PMS.

That option will force the server to always transcode your media even if your device could direct play the file.

awsome thnx mate so now i can put that option on automaticly and it wil just keep the subtitles? how do i instal that version i don’t see it im on Version 1.17.0.1841 i have a plex pass? never mind i put updates on beta and now i got that update

hello chrisallen, my plex player on my LG tv still doesn’t play VOBSUB. My Plex Media server tells me it is up to date with version 1.17.0.1841. When are you releasing 1.18.0.1846 to everyone? cheers, Jacques Lionnet
