I own a DS216j NAS and a LG OLED55C8 TV. For a few weeks (maybe since I’ve installed a new version of PMS?), when I play 1080p MKVs with SRT files through the Plex app, subtitles have started again to disappear after something like 30 minutes, like it is described in the thread Plex losing subtitle while playing. This bug was solved but I don’t understand why this is happening again. I’ve installed the latest versions of PMS and DSM but it doesn’t change anything.
Server Version#: DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 4
Player Version#: 1.18.4.2171
sorry not yet. it is only happening when using the app on your LG or does it also happen on the Web app? ( assuming the file can direct play in web app)
I am having the same issue across multiple apps. LG, Sony Android TV app. On my galaxy s10+ and also the Samsung TV app. I have restarted the docker and no changes occured. It is still selectable but not viewable.
I am having the same issue. Subtitles disappear after a few minutes.
Plex server OS: Ubuntu 19.10
Plex server snap version: 1.19.1.2645-ccb6eb67e
Player: Chrome Version 81.0.4044.122 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 10 Pro Version 1909 Build 18363.778
I’m havinfg the same issue. The subtitles dissapair after sometime playing. The only solution is enter the menu disable and enable the subtitles again. This means I cannot watch a movie entirely without going into the menu while it is playing.
It is happening in the Plex Player for WebOS and my plex server version is 1.19.2.2737
I have the same problem - running Plex server on a Mac, playing content on the Roku - subtitles are disappearing after 1-5 minutes of playing. JUST UPDATED TO VERSION 1.19.3.2852
Same here Synology Nas and wired connection to an LG C8 Oled.
My work around is choosing a different set of subtitles select back and choose the preferred one after a while you’ll have to repeat.
Looks there’s some kind of a timer in the background?
Hello, I have the same issue.
I have a Synology DS418Play and the latest version of Plex.
My LG C8 loses its subtitles after about 45 minutes to an hour.
I have had the same problem for more than 1 month, and I have never had this kind of problem. My server is running Ubuntu server 18.04, the media on Google assembled with the rclone and the subtitles disappear at the end of the TV episodes, or in the middle of the movies, sometimes just a few lines disappear and then they come back, other times just going backwards to come back, and it often doesn’t work. In addition to Samsung, here also occurs in the LG of my room. I don’t know what else to do, all the possible tests I’ve done and nothing solves, I just have to believe that this is a problem in my account, in my email.
I have already reinstalled the server over and over again, I used Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04 and the problem always occurs. I have already installed old versions of PMS, whether they are running on a docker or directly on the host and the problem always happens, sometimes in the middle of the film, sometimes at the end. We TV episodes are always close to the end, with just over 7 minutes left to end.
What intrigues me is the fact that it happens to everyone who has access to the server. I asked 2 friends to test it and the same problem occurred with them, the caption always disappears at the end of the content, or it gets lost in some lines in the middle of the content.
I have already activated the PMS logs and there is no error log in relation to this. I have no idea just what it might be, this is driving me crazy.
Hi
I have the same problem.
My Plex server is a WD EX2 Ultra upgraded to v 1.19.5.3112 to no avail.
Subtitles lost after 45 minutes. try to reload them but it keeps losing them after a shorter and shorter delay (3 minutes then a few seconds).
it’s really annoying. It happens with all kinds of video format. I use srt subs.
Thanks for the tips to correct, if any…
PMS v1.19.3.2764-ef515a800 on a Synology 918+.
Losing subs on every episode longer than 30 mins. The two only fixes I found were to close episode and resume (not pause), or select another subtitle option, wait for it to load and select the original subtitle option again.
It really seems to be a hell of a bug to fix, so if a Plex Employee wants me to try something on my end, I would love to help and report back as much as I can.
