Server Version#: 1.21.0.3744
Update Synology app packgage#: PlexMediaServer-1.25.2.5319-c43dc0277-x86_64_DSM7.spk
Plex tells me there is a update, i click on the link “Please install manually” and download the plex spk file for my synology. RS2416RP+ running DSM 7.0.1-42218 (up to date)
Like always i go to “Package Center” click on “Manual Install” select the SPK file, en that i get a ever running circle with “Processing. Pleas wait…” the only thing i can do to stop this is to reboot the entire Synology NAS… I do not know where it goes wrong … Synology or Plex …
I already run DSM7 on the Synology, just doing the Plex server upgrade.
i have about 10 TB of data … i have dedicated shared folders for movie and TV shows that are also used for other services, so i hope Plex does not move those movie / TV shows data…
I think the installer does not even “start” i let it run one time for more than 12 hours, moving data on same disk should be finished by that time …
Ho can i “see” if the "Processing. Pleas wait…” does anything ?
and to witch folder will plex move the media ?
i search on my synology but could not find any “new” media folder ?
Hello ChuckPa,
i have started the manual package install on Saturday evening, now we are Monday evening and still busy “processing. Pleas wait…” ( this is a Sygnology popup) I have watched the “write & read” speed of the Raid Disk… not any significant write or read is being executed!
Plex can still be operated normally … I guess this manual package install does nothing !
What can i do next ? Backup settings and user history and do a complete new install ?
Found the sollution : use different browser !
i always use firefox (latest) normaly never had this problem before…
So i read online for other Synology users having this problem with other packges to trey diffrent browser … i used Edge and it works, soon after starting the manual package i get the “update” cirkel … so after 5 minutes plex was updated !
I think so, as a IT guy i used Firefox allot, i do not have any special plugins in firefox preventing stuff… this is not the first time i have problem with firefox, …
