Plex matching with wrong metadata for an anime's episode title (correct naming convention)

I’ve ripped my Fairy Tail DVDs to my private Plex Server so i can watch them OTG but for some reason, Plex recognizes the wrong Episode Title/Name on certain Seasons. This is not the first time that it happened, it also happened with my Bungo Stray Dogs where the episode list for Season 2 and Season 3 got mixed up.

It’s worth noting that i have a working folder structure and correct naming convention that i follow and works 99% of the time. Below is an example:

  • Fairy Tail

      1. Season 1

      • Fairy.Tail.S01E01 [Episode Title].mkv

      • Fairy.Tail.S01E01 [Episode Title].mkv

      1. Season 2

      • Fairy.Tail.S02E01 [Episode Title].mkv

      • Fairy.Tail.S02E02 [Episode Title].mkv

      1. Season 3

      • Fairy.Tail.S03E01 [Episode Title].mkv

      • Fairy.Tail.S03E02 [Episode Title].mkv

Fairy Tail’s Season 1 and 2 are fine, no issue with the metadata or the episode titles. However, Season 3 and beyond started to get messed up…

I’ve consulted MyAnimeList, AniDB, Wikipedia, and even on my friend’s Netflix to confirm what the title really is for Season 3 Episode 1 (or Fairy Tail (2009) - Episode 73) and the four of them agrees that it’s “Rainbow Cherry Blossoms” or “Rainbow Sakura”. However Plex (and the plugins) insists that its “Best Partners” which is the Title for Season 3 Episode 25 (or Fairy Tail (2009) - Episode 97) which leads me to believe that Plex is offsetting the metadata for episode titles by 24. The similar entry i found like this is from IMDB where Season 3’s entries starts at “Best Partners” episode and followed by “Who’s the lucky one?” which is same as Plex!

Is there anyway this can be solved? have anybody encountered the same issue? maybe on TV Series with lots of Seasons too?

While it may be true that i can “just manually edit and update the episode titles”, but there’s too many and isn’t that the job of the Plugins? TheTVDB for example…

Plex doesn’t use any of those sources, it uses TheTVDB, which does list S03E01 as Best Partners.
