Plex matching wrong movie despite IMDb tag

Plex keeps matching my Tamil movie Madharaasi (2025) to a different title (Premapranthu), even though the IMDb ID is embedded in both the folder and filename.

What happens

  • Initial scan and “Auto Match” select Premapranthu (2025).

  • “Fix Match” screen still suggests the wrong title by default.

What I tried

  1. Unmatch → Fix Match → manual search by title/year

  2. Unmatch → Fix Match → search term imdb tt28252563

  3. Refresh Metadata / Refresh All

  4. Moved file out/in of library and re-scanned

  5. Confirmed scanner/agent settings above

Expected
Plex should lock to Madharaasi (2025) using the embedded {imdb-tt28252563} tag.

Could someone from the team check why the Plex Movie scanner/agent ignores the {imdb-…} tag here and prefers a different title? Happy to provide additional logs or run specific tests.

Because that IMDB was historically assigned to the wrong movie too: Premapranthu - Changes — The Movie Database (TMDB)

OKay. What is the solution ?

Plex probably needs to clear it’s metadata caches somewhere since it seems like it hasn’t picked up the removal of the IMDB ID mapping.
