I need help I am desperate … I originally set up Plex on my new powerful Synology NAS918+ it worked great…
went to use it after a month or 2 - no access to server it just takes you to screen inviting you to install plex media server … which I did PlexMediaServer-1.18.3.2156-349e9837e-x86_64 … I get logged in when I reinstall … when I click my media … it takes me back to the install plex media server page…Arghhhh.

I simply cannot get out of the loop … thank you plex…

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling… no I still cannot get back to the start setup page…now I am totally stuck.

How can such a slick package - be so brutal - with no help. Can anybody take me by the hand and help me … there is something fundamental going on!!!

On Synology, Reinstalling has no impact on your data.

  1. Sign out the Plex/Web client (upper right corner)
  2. Restart the browser
  3. Open an incognito window
  4. Open http://ip.addr.of.synology:32400/web?secure=0 (don’t use app.plex.tv)
  5. Sign in (and likely reclaim it )
