Cant install Media Server on Synology DS718+

Hi,

i have a problem during the installation of Plex on my synology nas.

I did the following steps:

I stopped my old Plex server on a MacBook.

I followed this guide: How to set up Plex on a Synology NAS | Windows Central

I havent got any errors during the installation, and the packet manager shows that the plex server is running. But if i go to “mynasadress:32400/web” and login into my account, i just see a plex client page. It shows up that it is searching for plex servers and in the middle of the screen appears a message where i could download the plex media server(see the attached picture).

I try to uninstall and install it again, but nothing happens.

I am a little confused, i hope you can help me.

thank you for your quick reply. I followed your steps

1. Stopped Plex from running
2. Delete the Preferences.xml
3. start Plex
4. Login to my account
5. Here i got the same message like before “searching for plex server”

Afterwards i signed out of the accounts but it doesnt work for me.

Do you have any further hints for me?

here my Logs. I unistall plex and install it again. And do the steps.

There is another strange thing, maybe it is connected to this problem.
After i install plex i can’t open the webclient in my browser (chrome) before i configure port 32400 on my fritz.box. But i am in the same network., is this normal? I dont want remote access for my plex server, but it seems that i have to configure it.

Oh man, that was easy
I had to use the ip instead of the dns name. Sorry, my bad.
No i got it.
