Not sure if this is happening to anyone else, but my media files (new added media) none of the metadata is being downloaded. is there an issue?
Same as Plex Agent no longer working and Add to Watchlist option is also now gone - #49 by Fyb3roptik
So how do I fix it???
The only workaround that seems to be working for folks – as called out in that thread – is to set your scanners to “Plex Media Scanner” with an agent of “The Movie Database” for movies, and scanner of “Plex Series Scanner” with an agent of “TheTVDB” for tv shows. Ignore the red warning indicator telling you that you need to upgrade your libraries.
Noob question, how do I do that?
Click the 3 vertical dots to the right of your library entry, click Manage Library → Edit. Click the Advanced tab, and there you’ll find the Scanner and Agent drop downs.
thanks buddy, much appreciated. Kind of shabby though for plex to roll out the new features and extra payment but things like this they cannot fix? every so often there is an issue with loading metadata of the library. @plex you need to sort this out asap!
I completely agree. Plex broke a LOT of stuff within the past 3 weeks, and has turned a deaf ear to their user base here. In fact, they’ve doubled down on charging ahead. They clearly haven’t learned anything from Sonos.
You can try deleting your codecs and then restarting your plex server. This worked for me, and I haven’t had any issues since.
