Plex Scanners and Agents not working

I’m having issues with the meta data not being provided under the new plex movie and TV scanners.

The default scanners and agent are Plex Movie/Plex Movie and Plex TV Series/Plex Series respectively.

When using these settings it never picks up the meta data. I need to manually change the library settings to Plex Movie Scanner/The Movie Database and Plex Series Scanner/The TVDB in order to get the correct meta data. However when I make the change I get the error message “Library Upgrade Required”. When you upgrade the library it resents the scanners to the defaults which then doesn’t pull any data.

Anyone else have this issue with the meta data?

Your server logs should list what’s going wrong when refreshing metadata (or matching / fixing matches). I suspect there’s some kind of network issue, causing the lookup requests to fail (could be something local, like firewall / security settings, or a bad DNS).
