Plex Media Metadata Not Working - II

Oddly enough, when I added media to my Plex server yesterday (12/21) this worked perfectly, metadata was being included; however for whatever reason it stopped working for me today.

I’m trying to add JFK - 1991 (Movie) and Berserk of Gluttony - 2023 (Anime).

For the anime, it worked when adding episodes 1-9 yesterday, but when I tried to add episodes 10-12 today, it failed. Btw, Plex is showing this in it’s database, so the metadata should be included.

When I tried to do a “refresh metadata” these were the logs that were captured.

What I’ve tried:

TV Shows

  • I’ve scanned the entire library - “Scan Library Files”
  • I’ve tried to scan the individual file - “Refresh Metadata”
  • I’ve tried to scan the entire show - “Refresh Metadata”

Movies

  • I’ve scanned the entire library - “Scan Library Files”
  • I’ve tried to scan the individual file - “Refresh Metadata”
  • I’ve tried to manually match the movie - Match… > Search Options > Input Title, Year or Title Only <<<<<<<<< no matches found

Any reason this could be happening?

There is a bug in the current version of Plex Media Server. The agents do not always initialize correctly. When this happens, media will not match correctly.

The workaround is to restart Plex Media Server.

The bug is fixed in the current beta release. Read the release notes before updating.

Restarting the Plex Media Server fixed the issue.
