Plex Media Player and Server on Same system

Possibly dumb question but I need some help/advice.

Plex Media Server on a stable NAS with many items in the Server database.

I want to travel and take some content with me for times when there is no viable Internet.

The content is easily moved from NAS to travel laptop.

Do I install the Server and the Player on my travel laptop or ??

My notions are to only install the Server side but others may have a different suggestion.

Any help is appreciated.

Plex is designed for that.
Since you didn’t say I’ll assume it’s a Windows laptop.
Install the Plex for Windows Player on your laptop. Within the app download all of the media you want to take with you.
