Thanks. The http://Your-NAS-IP:32400/web did the trick. It immediately saw the NAS server and I now have libraries being created.
Appreciate the help. I think I’m going to have some more questions as I get going so will post accordingly, not under this topic.
I have a key question on a different topic. How do I start that topic and get you to answer. You clearly know of what you speak and I need a definitive answer.
Tony
I’ve signed up for Plex Pass and want to be able to record
directly from an LG TV and store the recordings on a Synology NAS
server running Plex Media Server (PMS).
I loaded the Plex Media Player (PMP) from the LG Content Store and
I have version 3.90.1. Nowhere in the app can I find anything
about setting up recordings of Live TV. When I go to “Settings” I
can see the headings for Media Types, and the list includes Live
TV, but when I go back to “Home” I do not see Live TV as one of
the media types.
Why can't I see "Live TV" as a media type in PMP?
Can I record directly from the LG TV to the PMS on the Synology
Thank for the quick reply, but I now have two more questions.
1) I have a Win 7 PC on the network with a Hauppauge dual tuner.
How do I get to drive that from Plex? What DVR capabilities come
with Plex Pass?
2) Are there any plans to enable a TV like my LG 65 C8 to be able
to record directly to storage on my NAS? It seems such a logical
capability - the TV is really just a Linux PC with a very good
tuner and a very good video sub-system. The TV has the capability
to record - but only to a USB stick. The quality of the tuner and
the video in my TV is noticeably better than my Win 7 PC. It would
be very clean and effective to be able to record directly from the
TV to the NAS. I have no interest in trying to attach a tuner to
the NAS - I regard it simply as a storage device and a host for
Plex Media Server.
