TV will not find my Plex Media Server on Synology NAS but iPad does, PMS keeps sending me round in circles

I have recently moved home and set up my Synology DS2415+ NAS as previous, however, for some reason, my TVs will no longer see the Plex Media Server but my iPad sees it on the Plex app, however, 99% of my content will not play on the iPad as I get an error message “Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install” - this never used to happen.

The other odd thing that happens is when I open Plex Media Server from within the NAS Package Center, which takes me to a web player. Here, I have the option to add my media to Plex, but when I click it, it sends me to a page to download the very version of PMS that I have running, saying that I need it to be able to add my media, so I just keep going round in circles…

Any help would be greatly appreciated, though I must state upfront that I’m not that familiar with things such as this, which for years has just worked.

So in summary, LG TVs don’t see the PMS at all, iPad does, but will only play a fraction of the content, whereas previously, everything worked fine. I can’t get the PMS on the Synology NAS to show my own content, but the iPad can see it using the Plex app.

If anyone can help, I’ll be beyond grateful.

It sounds like you have a networking problem. The logs will show this if the case.
