Plex Media Player - Windows 10 PC remote

Thrown the towel in with Google Chromecast /Opera TV /PS4 plex apps, they are just so hit and miss with everything from buffering with large MKV with 30 - 40mbps bitrate, audio issues and just generally feeling slower then expected so invested in a True HD amp and a very small form mirco PC that I’ve installed using an Intel I5 with integrated intel HD GPU /8GB memory and SSD - its maybe overkill considering all I’m doing is connecting to my Plex Server but its using gigabyte LAN now and - WOW using the preview of Plex Media Player is totally night and day comparable to chromecast ./smart TV apps. Nothing is better then direct playing of media files. Its so nice to see my plex server showing my MKV’s being direct played - transcoding no more.

Cost me a small fortune - loving it but one issue. What to use as an remote. Tried xbox 360 controller I had kicking about - no joy. Left with a wireless mouse and keyboard at the moment, does the job but what does anyone recommend as a good value but good performing Plex PC remote? I can use my phone as well, but looking for a good remote.

Also, the PC plex media app is so much nicer looking IMO then Plex Home Theater. I guess I’m use to the Smart TV layout so when I tried both Plex Home Theater and Plex Media Player knew which one I preferred and the family are use to the newer layout as well.

Excellent that will do the job, I can from the looks of it use any universal remote with this. Perfect. Thank you.

Order one from Amazon UK just over £20 + £15 for a recommend universal remote as well. Hopefully it works, but I don’t see any issues with it. The usb dongle is meant to work with anything. Sounds good to me. Happy days.

Cheers for this, got my USB device yesterday - it works perfect. Media Centre is so much better with a working remote. Many thanks for the recommendation - top answer. Thank you.
