Plex Media Scanner doesn't automatically recognize well-prepared files

I use TinyMediaManager to scrape info from thetvdb and rename my movies to the following format:

  • Foldername: ${title} ${imdb} (${year})
  • Filename: ${title} (${year}) ${imdb} ${videoFormat} ${audioCodec}

Example: G:/Serien/Batman Begins tt0372784 (2005)/Batman Begins (2005) tt0372784 1080p DTS.mkv

The parameter $(title) gives the Movie-Name in German and the library is also set to German, using ‘Plex Movie’ as both Scanner and Agent. Plex scans the media and matches some of the movie files correctly, showing a great deal of information and a poster in nice resolution. But some of the movies do not get a poster but a rather ugly thumbnail from anywhere in the movie. Maybe I am missing something here?
Any ideas are highly appreciated. Aim would be to have TMM to rename files in a manner that they are immediately assigned to the correct entry by the Plex Movie Scanner.

Slight correction:
Batman Begins (2005) {imdb-tt0372784}/Batman Begins (2005) {imdb-tt0372784} [1080p DTS].mkv

The important part is to put the imdb or tmdb ID in curly braces. That overrides anything else in the folder/file name.

Very precise! Thanks a lot, will try and let you know. TMM is busy renaming series right now and will be for another 24 hours i guess. Any tips for series?

Under no circumstances create arbitrary subfolders in a tv show library folder.
Only the trinity mentioned on the article of
TV Show title/Season XX/Episode files

Never add these tv show folders individually to your Plex library.
Instead put all of them into a common folder (e.g. named “TV Shows”) and add this folder to your Plex library.

Never add “naked” drive letters to your Plex library. Always use a folder.

Commenting because I notice the Serien directory in the original example. Perhaps this is redundant, but tt0372784 is a movie, so it must be in a Movie-type Library in Plex.

Movies and Series TV should be in different top-level directories and different Plex Libraries.
