Plex Media Serer times out after DSM 7.1 update 1

The video I watched was " Synology NAS Setup Guide 2022 #6 - Setting Up Plex Media Server Right First Time" by NASCompares. He has an accent I believe he is Australian.

This is the link to the video but he also has a whole series about setting up the Synology NAS.

Since I am talking to a someone who set the package up, I’d like to ask a couple of questions.

  1. Should I leave my directory structure as is or try to fix it???
  2. I notice anything I put in my own “Plex Media” under my /homes/loginDir mirrors the :“Plex Media” under /homes - so in effect /home/Plex Media is the shared directory.

But I want to thank you for all your help,
Regards,
Ray

Thank you,

Now I understand.

That tutorial was taken from the 2021 material he had.

  1. Plex is no longer in beta (we have an issue with Synology NOT updating our package)

  2. Should you accidentally install and configure per that tutorial, all is not lost.
    – All packages you download from Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More know how to move your server installation from DSM BETA structure to final RELEASE structure.

Because of all the confusion which has been caused, I’ll reach out to you privately so we can resolve this mess. It’s quite trivial to do but I’d like to personally see it gets resolved quickly and you get back to enjoying your system.

Thanks a ton. Any help will be appreciated.
