Plex media server asks me for a subscription to play content on my cell phones

Hello
I have installed plex media server on a My Cloud Ex 2 Ultra NAS (WD)to play content between my family members.

When I play any movie with Plex Media Player on my lap top (windows) I have no problem, but when I do it with my android phone or iphone, the app shows me a message that to stream to the device from the Plex Media Server I must make a one-time purchase from the application or subscribe to Plex Pass, and only allows me to play the video 1 minute.

Why does this happen?
Is it not possible to use the mobile devices for free in a home account?

That’s right, the mobile apps are not free unless you have a Plex Pass.

I understand

How many home or guest users can I have on a PLEX PASS account?

Is it possible to capture the DVR streaming from my CCTV system on Plex media server?

Thanks

You can share your libraries with up to 100 users. Up to 14 of those (15, if you count the server admin) can be in you Plex Home, but the total of Home users plus Friends can not exceed 100. Home users are intended to be the people in your house (Keep in mind, that is the maximum that Plex will allow you to share with. It’s unlikely that your server would be beefy enough to serve up videos to a hundred people simultaneously.).

This page has more:

I have no idea about the CCTV question.

thanks

Hello

What equipment would be best to use to install a plex media server in my boat (? Currently in my house I have a NAS My Cloud expert Ex2 Ultra . I am concerned that the movement of the boat and the saline content of the air may damage it if I decide to use it on those rides.

Regards

I haven’t a clue. I’d suggest doing some research on computers designed for that environment.

Ok,

Thanks

The only safe way would be to use SSDs: no moving parts. But that is still pricey.

Yes, I think it will be the best alternative

I will see the costs

Thanks
