Plex Media Server cant see files or play sine Catalina update

Server Version#: Version 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#:

Sine updating to Catalina I cant play or access movies on my iMac. They are on a WD USB Raid and Finder sees all the files but Plex comes up with a cant access files or ‘Please check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted’

Drive is mounted and all the files exist. I have set access in Security to full disc access but not sure thats for the USB drives. any suggestions welcome please

Update: I removed the WD My Book Duo (USB Raid) and reinstalled the WD My Book single drive and I can see and play movies. So it looks like an issue with the WD My Book Duo. (NOT a My Cloud). I cant see any settings to change anything in the Duo as its really a USB drive. No option to select removable drives in Preferences on the mac either with Plex other than full disk access.

help…

System preferences/ Security & Privacy/Admin password/ Left menu/Files and folders/Allow apps right menu. You may have ignored the warning when instaling, this will rectify your issue.

Many thanks for replying. The only option I have is to give the app Full disk access. The Files and folders section is “greyed out” in that I cant seem to add apps. But in any case full disk access should be more than enough. However…

And here’s the dumb part…

I discovered that when I upgraded to Catalina I also changed my Movies USB drive that went faulty for a new oneand didn’t call the disk the exact same name as the original. So Plex was looking for a volume called My Duo Movies instead of Movies. DOH!

All corrected with in Plex now. Boy do I feel stupid. But thanks for trying to assist. Still puzzled why Files & Folders wont allow me to add an app even when I remove Plex from the Full Disk Access section. Looks like a Catalina issue of course

It may have to do with me formatting my external drives in NTFS

Possibly.

Wouldnt have been the issue in my case as my drives are formatted, journaled, in Apple format. Just my dumb actions in changing the drive title without telling Plex Server. I’ve had 30 years in IT engineering, support and project managment and I still make rookie mistakes
