Hi,
I have recently experienced issues where my Plex Media Server goes offline intermittently. Approximately every 3 hours or so.
I have been running PMS for many years and never experienced this before. I do not believe I have made any changes to the Operating System or Network and I can only say I have noticed this problem since the last PMS upgrade.
I have checked the windows event logs and cannot see anything there thst would indicate a problem.
The hardware seems to be all ok.
The connections to the NAs drives that my media is on is always available and there seems no issue there. I have 3 separate NAS drives and the mapped network drives for these are always there and are always on.
The fix is simply to stop PMS altogether and then start it back up again. It start up just fine with everything working correctly both remotely and locally,
I have tried restarting everything including the NAS’s , Switches, Windows Computer and Routers.
I cannot pin point the source of the issue.
I have downloaded the Plex Logs but I do not know what to look for to determine what problem I have created.
Post the log files to this thread, so someone can take a look at them. Attach the entire zip file. Also, include the approximate time of the crash if known. It will help shorten the search.
I have exactly the same problem (running Catalina as well) - but I am unable to get to the configuration menu - they all say “settings not available”, and the same problems (the settings not available) happens on my 2nd server as well - a Raspberry Pi 4, so I suspect this is not a operating system problem,.
My Plex Media Server stopped again stopped again. As previously stated there is not a lot of information as to why it is intermittently stopping. The work around is to simply stop or exit PMS and start it up again.
The attached logs are collected after I restarted PMS. The time that the server stopped was around 9.50pm to 10.16pm.
If anyone knows what to look for in the logs please could you have a look at point me in the right direction. Your help would be really appreciated.
Thanks for the super quick review of my logs and potentially identifying the problem. I do use IOS to stream. I have many IOS devices accessing the server and a Roku3, Android, Chromecast, LG TV App and a Samsung TV App.
Based on the post you highlighted it looks like I will need to at least log out each IOS device and log them back in and then if that does not work go and do all other devices.
