Server going offline daily. Plex is Unreachable

Plex becomes unreachable on every device I use it on. I go back to the server and go into my windows task manager and end the plex tasks. It works fine for a few hours and then becomes unreachable again.

guessing you use IOS devices to stream from your Plex Server…

I use a Windows desktop for my server. I stream from my Roku tv and my iPhone on the app.

My server started crashing a few days ago as well. Runs until it starts doing anything serious (like transcoding), then dies. Nothing in the logs. Has been working fine without a hiccup literally for years, now won’t run more than a day.

Today I even got serious and uninstalled, cleared all files, and re-installed. Same exact issue - as soon as it starts transcoding anything, the server process dies.

I have been using same version of Plex media server for linux for a good couple of weeks now from running a very old version no issues at all. But within last 2 days i have had two crashes on the evening…

Now i have read on here iOS was killing server, and i have two say both times i was watching something on evening was from iPad…

I can see there was plex client update which i have done, fingers crossed thats what it was.

Also worrying, a plex client can bring down the server

I have the same issue. I have Plex Server running on a Windows 10 PC but every time I try to access my content on my Mi Player running Android TV 10 through the app the server program on PC just disappears like it was never running. I have to restart it and repeat the process a couple of times before it works like normal.

Does anyhow know how we go about getting help from Plex tech support?

I have the same problem with a Nvidia Shield hosting my Plex. I’ve tried turning off the power down on the hdmi port to stop it from going to sleep and then it never reconnects to the storage I have connected to my router. Only a reboot of the Shield TV fixes the problem, or sometimes I have to remount the storage in the router GUI.

Has anyone else found a way to rectify this?

Forum support is the mechanism. Upload your logs saves from asking a lot of questions.

Thank you.

I have a Plex server running on a QNAPP NAS and a Plex server running on rapidseedbox.com… both of them have been nearly unwatchable the last few days. Freezing, crashing, can not connect to server… it works “ok” on my desktop with maybe one or two issues a day, but on my two fire TV’s it is very difficult to watch something the last couple days.

I’ve reported to support but hoping that this thread gets some attention with critical mass.
