Plex media server does not open (Windows 10)

I have the latest version of the server and player as I just reinstalled them. I run windows 10.

My plex worked fine for a few months, then I changed routers and everything went wrong. Remote access stopped working, so I tried to port forward. That worked for like a few days, then it stopped for some reason. Then I could not even access the server on the device on which it was running. So I reinstalled and everything and removed the port forward rules and the server, now I can not even open the server. Running the .exe does nothing. The path or whatever does not exist in regedit, but there is a plex server folder in AppData/Local. Please help, thanks.

Hey @gmk01_me_com, could you give us a bit more information and maybe we can help. What version of PMS are you using? Can you try another version? Can you make sure in the Task Manager that no instance of PMS is running?

PMS does not run, only the update service. I have the latest version of PMS (1.22.0.4163-d8c4875dd). What version do you suggest trying?

Have you ever used the (now removed) menu item to relocate the Plex data folder to a different location?
If you did, and this location doesn’t exist (anymore), then Plex will close immediately.

Please take a look into your Windows registry and determine whether the key mentioned in this article exists. If it does, either edit it to point to the right place
or
delete it to reset it back to the default location.

I have not edited the location, the key does not exist

Zip the Logs folder and attach it here please.

Hi! I fixed the issue surroudning it not starting. It had to do wiht me reinstalling it improperly and having to delete additional files. However, my plight is not over haha. I get the " A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server." message now. I believe that these are the relevant logs. Thanks.

Plex Crash Uploader.log (272 Bytes) Plex Media Server.1.log (192.2 KB) Plex Media Server.2.log (108.9 KB) Plex Media Server.3.log (17.9 KB) Plex Media Server.4.log (188.4 KB) Plex Media Server.log (102.1 KB) Plex Tuner Service.1.log (1.9 KB) Plex Tuner Service.2.log (1.9 KB) Plex Tuner Service.3.log (1.5 KB) Plex Tuner Service.4.log (2.7 KB) Plex Tuner Service.log (1.9 KB) Plex Update Service.1.log (1.4 KB) Plex Update Service.2.log (1.4 KB) Plex Update Service.log (1.4 KB)

What exactly does this mean?

After following this guide: Uninstall Plex Media Server | Plex Support

I reinstalled PMS. After which I was greeted by the “A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server.” error message.

Did you perhaps perform (or tried to perform) this uninstallation procedure while Plex server was still (at least partially) running?

I tried to avoid it, but it could have happened accidentaly

Then do it again, but this time make sure to shoot down any plex-related processes before doing it.
Use the task manager (invoke with CTRL + Shift + Esc).

Tried it twice, did not work. For what it’s worth “http://127.0.0.1:32400/web” gives “ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE”. Only “http://localhost:32400/web” leads to the plex server which gives me the error
