I have a problem with the library. Just yesterday I was watching a TV show, but today when I wanted to see a next episode my library is completely empty.
Any idea why this happened and how to solve it?
I have apparently lost all the movies and TV shows over night.
Atatched is a screenshot of the Plex Media Server Library → empty
It looks like you have not just lost your content but the actual libraries (which is basically just a configuration).
Any chance this involves different user accounts (on your Mac Mini)? If you’re starting the Plex Media Server from a different (Mac) user, this could result in Plex considering it a new server.
It’s unlikely this is related to some other kind of “loss of access” to your media. In that case you will still be able to see the libraries (even if their content is gone).
Hi, thanks for quick reply.
I am using the same computer and the same user.
What I recall doing is deleting the Plex player a few days ago. But what is not understandable to me is how that it actually worked yesterday and it does not work any more now.
You referred to deleting the Plex Media Player app some days ago.
Are you using some 3rd party apps to clear/uninstall your files (that might have removed other data from Plex’s application support folder)?
I suppose that means we found the culprit. Those „cleaners“ are known to be less than subtle when it comes to deleting stuff. It appears your cleaner might have cleaned the PMS settings as well as those of the PMP.
Do you still have a time machine backup from which you can restore the Plex Media Server data Directory / settings?
I font uderstand how come that I was still able to see the one of the tv shows after delete of plex player was done and day after everything has gone.
I have a time machine, but of course it is something wrong and I get a timeline only for one day back.
