Hey Guys -
I use my primary workstation for many things including running Plex Media Server on Windows 10 x64. Recently, I’ve noticed that despite nothing playing, no scanning active, and no other tasks running, "Plex Media Server.exe is constantly using 11 - 15% CPU - like 24/7 - even after restarting app and reboots. I’ve verified that maintenance tasks are scheduled for nighttime and that all optional tasks seem to be disabled. Yes, I know it doesn’t sound like a lot, but for me it’s a big chunk.
Below are system specs, some configurations, library stats, and log snippets. If you don’t see anything that stands out, any suggestions for what the cause may be?
Note: I’m planning to move PMS to a Docker container on a dedicated system soon, but cannot figure out how to mount and use Windows Shares to work with a container on an Atomic (Fedora 28) host.

- CPU: i7-3770k OC’d to 4.0Ghz
- 32gb RAM (4x8gb)
- Motherboard: Z77X-UD5H
- GPU: GeForce GTX 970 (4 GB)

- 42.5tb Disk pool for media
- PMS installed to same SSD as OS
- PMS Cache folder on separate hybrid disk
- TV Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD ATSC (Only record 2 shows /w Plex)

- Extra logging options disabled
- Remote Access Enabled (3-4 Users)
- Metadata uses standard agents
- Libraries: ~20 with of large variety
- Scan library automatically: Enabled (Nothing is scanning when have ~12% CPU)
- Run partial Scan: Enabled
- Scan periodically: Daily
- Run @ lower priority: Enabled
- Generate Video Thumbnails: Never (Set same per library)
- Generate Chapter Thumbnails: Never (Set same per library)
- Analyze Audio: Never
- Transcoder Temp on dedicated SSD
- Use hardware acceleration: Enabled
- DLNA: Disabled
- Scheduled Tasks: 1am - 8am Set to run standard stuff like DB optimization, update libraries, etc
- Manually Optimized DB & Cleaned Bundles yesterday
