Very High CPU Usage

Server Version#: 1.24.2.4973
Player Version#: N/A
Windows 10
Core i7-6700k
64Gb Ram
C: drive (with plex installation is Raid 0 SSD)

This has been bothering me for weeks. For seemingly no reason at all Plex will pin my CPU at 100%. Not the transcoder process, the Plex Media Server process. I cannot tell what the hell plex is doing. There is nothing in the Alerts section. This happens sometimes with a single video direct playing (no subtitles). Actually as I type this, the plex dashboard shows 1 video direct playing, and it is paused. My CPU is at 100%. ~90% of that is Plex Media Server process.

Any ideas what Plex is doing? it would be nice to know.

Oh, and generate video thumbnails is disabled.

Have you by chance enabled the sonic analysis in combination with a large music library? This should be showing in the activity pane using the hosted version of Plex Web (https://app.plex.tv/desktop).

Sonic analysis is disabled. I have been adding lots of music lately though.

I also have metadata refresh set to manual for everything.

Got similar issue as well but happens only when new media is detected and scanned it so annoying as it basically throws errors for anyone watching and terminates any active streams and they are all direct streams no transcoding at all. It driving me crazy for few month already
