Kingston would be able to offer some clear advice as compatibility of those two sticks.
For stress testing RAM, most people boot off a thumb drive and run memtest86.

I thought I saw a QNAP diagnostic app at one point that could test various aspects. It’s just a vague memory though.

I’d talk to Kingston on the phone. I’d get additional advice from Crucial on the Phone asking what their solution would be. I’d compare what I learned against the QNAP forum posts. I could do most of that while memtest86 is taking it’s 8 hours to finish 4 passes.

Thanks for the advice. I will contact Kingston.

I found the application: QNAP Diagnostic Tool. I will try it.

There is something that I left out about the QNAP memory. The brand is Apacer.
I didn’t mention it before (I left it out deliberately) because otherwise you could have said: that makes a big difference

I wasn’t so concerned with the RAM. If it didn’t work, the system should lock up or spontaneously reboot from my experience.

But you were getting strange network issues, as if the upgrade broke your hardware. I didn’t want to suggest that  So I’ll go along with the RAM possibility for now.

In addition to speaking with a RAM manufacturer, if I were you I’d swap the old RAM back in and see if the problems are solved. If that could be done easily at no cost, it might be worth the time.
