In the last few months Plex has been going to hell! Too many things have been changed.
1.I used to be able to select a photo from the middle of a playlist or favorites and the photo would play back from that photo on. Now you have to select play and it starts at the beginning. When I select a single photo there’s nothing I can do with it except view it.
2.When I add a photo to a playlist and position it where I want it the photo appears in the WRONG location. It does not appear where I want it to appear. This just started after I started using the quick move method of checking the photo and dragging it up.
3.When adding a favorite the favorite appears in the wrong place then changes position as I add more favorites.
I wish there was an automatic update system for the media server so I wouldn’t have to do it manually! It’s hard to determine if the version I have is an old version or the most up to date.
FYI: This does not work http://SERVER-IP-ADDRESS:32400
Personal Opinion: I would never enable auto-updates, especially if running the beta (Plex Pass) releases. The last thing I want is for Plex to auto-update and there is an issue that impairs playback, crashes the system, etc. The update could happen at any time, and I might be in a location without access to my server to fix things, possibly for days (vacation, business travel, etc).
Unless there is a compelling reason to update, I generally wait days or weeks before updating my production server. My production server stays on the public (non-Plex Pass) releases and is frequently one or two releases behind the current version. I also have a backup server which is loaded with the current beta release. This lets me test any new features before deploying the update to my production system.
I spent too many years in customer support, helping customers recover because they slammed in software updates as soon as possible w/o regard for the impact to their network and systems. Granted, I’m running a system that streams movies, not one that impacts company revenue, but I’m still cautious.
