Plex Media Server keeps disconnecting

Hi there, this is a long recurring problem I’ve had and I’ve finally mustered up the effort to try and remedy. Every week or so, my server becomes disconnected and I need to restart my Synology NAS. Once I perform a restart, it works again for a week or so until it eventually disconnects again and tells me server is not able to be reached. Please please help???

I see where it was ordered to shutdown. What I am completely unable to explain is the total lack of log activity. It is as if PMS was completely suspended.

Is this a native application installation on the host or is it in a VM / Container ?

I see 192.168.1.9 is a very noisy and non-SSDP compliant device advertising as a UPNP gateway. What is it?

Thanks Chuck. I have a Synology NAS, Ethernet hard wire into Netgear Orbi. I did the standard setup in Synology so there shouldn’t be any customized settings. Can you guide me how to look up the other information you requested?

Hi @ChuckPa just circling back - Do you have any insight on how to fix this problem?

Can anyone help me? This is a recurring issue that keeps happening. @ChuckPa or anyone else out there??

Thank you @trumpy81! I have the IP Provider modem running into the Orbi. To confirm, I don’t need IP Modem to IP router to Orbi for this to work? My setup would only be IP modem to Orbi without the IP provided WiFi router. Will this still work?

Got it! Sorry I forgot to specify, I have the NAS hard wired into the Orbi. Orbi is hard wired into IP modem. Is this ok to set into bridge mode?

Many thanks!!

I set the Orbi to bridge mode and now have no internet. Apparently you can only do this with the setup: modem to WiFi router to Orbi. Which is why I asked in the first place.

Maybe I’ll have a chance to try that in a few hours after getting a chance to fix this mess.
