Synology disconnecting

Server Version#:Synology DS1512+
Not sure what’s going on but lately I notice that Plex is disconnecting from my Synology DS1512+. Each time this happens I have to log into Synology launch Plex and reconnect to the Media server… worked fine for 2 years and it just drops… any help would be appreciated.

Is Plex Media Server running on the Synology or on a Windows PC?

Server log files that capture the problem would help.

  1. Make sure Plex Media Server is configured for debug level logs.
    Setting → Server_Name → General (show advanced)

  2. Restart Plex Media Server.

  3. When the problem re-occurs, pull the log files (Settings → Troubleshooting) and attach the entire ZIP file to the thread. Drag it into the message window. It will insert at the cursor location.

Here is the log

Plex is running from my windows PC.

Do you have multiple Plex Media Servers?

According to your log files, Plex Media Server is running on the Synology NAS.

Also, it is running v1.18.5.2309, which was released in January 2020.

Update to a current version of Plex Media Server. Download the Intel 64-bit version from Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More, and perform a manual installation using Synology Package Center.

The update may take some time to complete. The Synology has a very low power Atom CPU. Also, there have been many changes to the Plex database, so it will take some time for the migration to complete.

Do not interrupt the process, even if your DSM login times out.
