Plex Media Server localhost saying plex.tv cannot be reached

Server Version#: 1.41.3.9314
Player Version#: Firefox Web Browser, 127.0.0.1:32400 local connection
<No logs, just a question about Requirements>

I’ve been using Plex Media Server for maybe over 10 years now, and a Lifetime Plex Pass member since 2017 (or so), and tonight for the first time, my local Internet Service was offline for multiple hours. Tonight was the first time my entire Plex system completely stopped working because “plex.tv could not be reached”.

Before coming here to rant like a lunatic, I did check the System Requirements, and Internet and Connection requirements, and nowhere does it say I am required to have a working internet connection to listen to MP3s on localhost. Meaning, the files are on the PC hard drive, Plex Media Server is installed and functioning on the same PC (and hard drive). When playing on this machine (HTPC) I usually go to the Plex in systray, right-cllick, and launch Plex - so it goes to 127.0.0.1:32400 as you would expect.

So again, 1000s of days of this, and not once have I ever not been able to stream my LOCAL media because an internet connection was down. It is usually not down this long, so something happened, and I need to know if Plex Media Server does in fact require a continual connection to (external service) plex.tv in order to work.

If so, today is the last day I will use Plex services. I was lead to believe I could unplug my internet from the wall and still be able to use Plex locally inside my house without an internet connection. If that’s not true, then I feel a little mislead.
