Well, the database has been rebuilt, but there are problems. hen I try to log into Plex Web through the Synology app, I am told “There was an error signing in” even though my credentials are correct.
I can log into the desktop Plex app but when I try to look at the NAS from that direction, the error is 'No soup for you! You do not have access to this server." My own computer (on which Plex is running) is “Currently unavailable.”
I will log out of everything and restart my computer.
Thanks. I have Opened Plex on the NAS as you say (after waiting a few min after renaming the pref file. After the ign in screen, I get a very brief message saying that I have successfully logged in, before I get another screen telling me that there was an error signing in (again.) Do you think I might have missed something?
Thanks. I will look into the router settings issue, although that’s all way beyond my technical knowledge at the moment!
Regarding that file referred to in the logs, I haven’t moved it recently, it’s still there in my Other Videos folder - which leads me on to your last point - currently, I have the following folder structure:
/Media
/Movies
/TV Shows
/Other Videos
(with Music and Photos as two folders outside Media)
and I take it it should actually be for example:
/Media
/Movies
/Music
/TV Shows
Where do the aforementioned Other Videos, such as family clips or stuff that doesn’t get matched by Plex (one-off TV specials etc.), go? Is something like ‘Other Videos’ not needed anymore?
That’s really helpful info, thank you. I am currently in the process of restructuring my NAS to reflect what you say. I have dozens of music folders; do you know if there is a way of selecting more that one folder, so I can move them together?
Success! (fingers crossed) - I have logged onto my NAS and Plex is doing it’s thing finding and cataloguing my content. I will report back with logs if there are problems.
Once again, many thanks for your insight and patience.
The only problem I seem to have is that my Plex login can see (or expects to see) my old server, so I have 2 DiskStation servers, one of which is fine, with all my stuff, and another which can’t be accessed. Is there a way of removing it from Plex?
