Plex Media Server not Launching and never found in Widows 10

Server Version#:1.13.5.5332-21ab172de
Player Version#:2.18.0.893-48795f25
Windows 10: 10.0.2.1000

I did install Plex Media Server. It is showing in the tray, I can right click and get the version. I can right click and see the menu that lists: “Open Plex…” as the first item on the list.

Yet, no matter what I do, I cannot open the server, and the Player will always give me the same message:
" A server could not be found. Download and install Plex Media Server, and it will appear here."

But I have done that.

I did uninstall and reinstall, log out, and re-logon. I have disabled my Virus protection to make sure it was not that. I do not have VPN.

Thanks,

Microsoft Edge will not work.
Install and use either Firefox or Chrome.
Open one of these web browsers and click on this link http://127.0.0.1:32400/web

I don’t use microsoft Edge at all. I use Chrome. And the fact that Flex Media Server is not opening is completely independent from the browser.

No, it is not independent. “Open Plex” simply opens the default web browser at the address http://127.0.0.1:32400/web
The server itself is a separate process with no user interface, except this little tray icon.

Please re-download the installation .exe and try the installation again.
Afterwards, fetch logs files.

I have already reinstalled 5 or 6 times, but one more or less…I will do that and let you know if the 7th time will make a difference.

Hello Otto,

I followed (tried to) the instruction to download the log, but there is no “server” tab under settings.

So what’s next?

Thank you,

Olivier

Scroll down a little further on that instruction page where it says ‘manually finding logs’

Hello Otto,

Sorry, I thought I responded to this.

Actually No, I cannot scroll down further, there is no further don, the screen shot I sent is the whole page.

You can see from the screen shot, there are no scroll bar. IN addition please note that when I click on “settings” there is no “Troubleshooting” option either. (in previous email you mentioned to click on settings, and trouble shooting, when I click on “settings” I get the page below>

Sorry, I was ambiguous: what I meant was please scroll down on the help page.

Further down it describes how to fetch the log files manually, without the help of the plex web app.

Ok , I found the folder. I attached them but there are a lot.

Thank you,

Sorry, this must have been a chore. However, the log I am after is not among these.
How about zipping up the whole log folder?
