Plex Media server not working

Plex is running on windows server 2019. I can login with email and password, but than my libraries are not visible as if it was reset to default. I only see a circle in the center of the screen as if Plex is searching. Is my database corrupt or is it a general Plex issue ?

Try using a incognito window.

Is the server available via app.plex.tv ?

If i use app.plex.tv i see the same. I see “get plexmedia server” I see no content. As if it was installed for the first time.

Using an incognito windows shows exactly the same. On the left i see the + sign (add new media) and a circle spinning around in the centre of the screen as it is trying to load, but nothing happens… Could it be that my Google account has been comprimised ?? I log in via google account. I have over 1.000 movies in the database. If plex doesn’t work how i am going to restore a database ?

What happens when you use the local IP address instead of app.plex.tv?

Edit: I guess you did that the first time (on your original post).

Keep in mind Plex makes backups of your database automatically. So you still have those if something did happen.

I did some more investigating. I recently changed my router. DNS adress was set to wrong ip adress. It used to be 192.168.2.254. It’s now 192.168.2.253. I can see my database again. The only thing that’s not working is the watchlist: I get an error saying: An expected error has occurred. check the forum if the problem remains. Well i don’t care abou the watchlist. I probably have an outdated version of Plex. I probably should update asap.

Update your version of plex and if you have issues post a copy of your server logs

I was able to update Plex. It turned out my previous versio was 1.40 quite old. After the update to 1.42 everything seems to work.
