Player Version#: N/A
For the past couple of weeks, my Plex Media server running on Mac OS Catalina version 10.15.7 has stopped running each night - looking at the logs, apparently shortly after the time I have scheduled tasks set to run. The server logs (attached) show a number of errors and warnings, but I don’t see any indication of an actual crash, though I may just not be looking in the right log file.
This has reoccured every night since I posted (and many nights before), so it’s not just a one-off issue, apparently.
Is my best option going to be to write a script that checks if plex is running and launches it if not, then run said script every minute? Seems kludgey, but if there is no fix or workaround the alternative is risk missing recordings in the morning…
In regards to testing, is there anyway to manually trigger the “scheduled tasks”? Such that I can turn specific tasks on/off and see if it still exits when running?
Make no mistake, however - this is NOT a solution! At best, it’s a workaround that will at least prevent me from missing recordings due to the server not functioning, but it creates its own set of issues due to the lack of thumbnail generation.
This is a rather serious bug that needs to get fixed.
This is a serious bug that needs immediate attention. Perhaps @anon18523487 or @ChuckPa or one of the other team members/employees on this forum can pay some attention to this issue? Thank you!
P.S. I really don’t appreciate having no way to contact support for a paid application. This needs to change.
Thank you for the reply, and the very useful information you provided! I’ll turn DEBUG logs on, let plex crash again tonight, and post the new logs tomorrow morning. Hopefully then we’ll have the information you guys need to fix this bug!
