Plex Media Server on QNAP NAS

I recently had to switch from Mediacom cable internet to ATT fiber internet (relocation to NC). I finally got around to adding a new movie to the Plex Media Server on my NAS & discovered 2 things:

  1. My Plex Media Server is only accessible on my local network (I used to be able to access it & watch movies anywhere).
  2. I can add movie to my Plex Media Server but it will not download any metadata, posters or backgrounds.

Does anyone have a solution to these problems?

Sounds like your QNAP can’t connect to the internet.

Check IP, DNS and default gateway on your QNAP

That was the first thing I thought of also. I check the NAS & sure enough it had an error that it was not connected to the internet. I’ve gone through the settings & the error is no longer there but I’m still having the same issue.

Switch logging to debug mode, restart PMS, and then upload logs

i’m looking into getting a qnap. I have att pace 5628ac pace gateway. Im have a fire stick where my plex client will be so i would want to stream my date from my qnap over wifi. I"m not sure if you stream over wifi or not. If so How did you connect your qnap to you att gateway?.
