Plex Media Server On Windows 10 Will Not Open by Lauching Applicaton

Server Version#: 1.19.2.2676
Player Version#:
I in process of moving a server from Mac to PC. I can only open the plex media server nu either logging into my plex account and hitting launch or opening a browser and going to URL http://localhost:32400/web.

Why on earth does the Plex Media Server simply not launch like it does on the Mac when opening the application? It there some secret or hidden setting to making the Plex Media server work the way is suppose to? I am Plex Pass user.

I have been a Plex user for nearly as long as Plex has existed and am very tech Mac and PC savy, So why on earth is this such a problem? I am on the latest version of Windows 10 Pro with a new Core9 gaming machine to run it on.

once to were you want to be with the Plex desktop bookmark the address…

This is not a good answer… . I should not need to this to launch the Plex Media Sever. Is the only way other users can get it open. If so, I find this very hard to believe as there is no documentation to have to do this in order to launch the application. A good work around but, not a solution.

If you right-click the Plex icon in the notification area and select “Open Plex” it should open the local Plex web client using your default browser. Is that not the case? It’s at most three clicks, but as few as two if you configure the notification area to always show Plex Media Server.

I do not understand, windows applications do have “notification areas” from the programs menu or anywhere else that I have ever heard of even back to the day of Windows XP. What to do mean by " It’s at most three clicks, but as few as two if you configure the notification area to always show Plex Media Server.". The only things that will show in Windows 10 when you right click on a application from searching from the windows icon is Run as Administrator, Open File Location, Pin to Start, Pin to Taskbar, or uninstall.
Even if I launch the application directly form C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server, the server will not launch in any browser, I have tested setting default browser to Edge, IE11, Firefox.

The notification area in Windows 10, by the clock:

Right-click the Plex Media Server icon and the web client will open in your default browser:

When you run Plex Media Server from the start menu it just starts it the server, if it isn’t already running. The web client is opened separately, either as I’ve described or by manually browsing to it. If you’d like a client which you can run from the start menu, install the Plex for Windows desktop application:

https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-desktop/1.8.2.1192-89432618/windows/Plex-1.8.2.1192-89432618-x86_64.exe

The server is running… Your starting the client to access the server the same as you would with a Fire Stick or any other client…

The Notification Area is also the System Tray which has been there since Windows XP and before. Going to C:\Program Files (x86)… only starts the Server. When it is running there is a Plex icon in the System Tray. There is no front end GUI application for Plex Server, it is accessed via your web browser. You can either bookmark the location in your browser, create shortcut on your desktop to that location using the URL or you can right click on the Plex icon in the system tray and select Open Plex. They all take you to the same place.
