Plex Media Server resolves on localhost but not local IP

Server Version#: 1.41.8.9834
Player Version#: any

Hi!

My Plex Media Server is working fine except when I enter the local IP address in my browser on my Ubuntu Server with port 32400 it doesnt show the PlexMediaServer. It says: “The page isnt working. 192.168.1.40:32400 didnt send any data.”

I have set a static IP for my Server which is 192.168.1.40 and I opened the firewall for a few ports, like 80, 443 and 32400. But even if I turn the firewall off I cant “reach” the mediaserver on my local ip.

Any idea how I can reach the Plex Mediaserver with my local IP and not only via localhost?

Thank you

stop PMS.

Now Start PMS, wait 3 minutes, and Stop PMS again (give us fresh logs)

Make a tar.gz of the Logs directory (under Plex Media Server)

Upload/attach it here please.

Hi Chuck

During the night my Server hosting the virtual machines did an unexpected shutdown, nevertheless after powering it back on and following your steps I can reach my Plex via local IP again.

I created a tar.xz of the logs but wont post it here because I saw it contains all media I linked to plex. Better not share which Movies and Series there are. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, thank you for your help. In conclusion there is to say that a simple reboot and restart of the service solved my problem.
