Media server is running on synology NAS but I cannot access it, states unavailable.
I cannot access the server settings. I restarted plex a few times with no luck
I understand that. I have tried what you stated above, it has allowed me to claim the server and the same issue happens. I have also followed your directions on deleting the plexmediaserver.pid and preferences.xml with no luck.
Yes, and yes
yes, Plex is running on the NAS. I claimed the server when I did this the first time “Open Plex by typing in http://PMS-Server-IP-Address:32400/web”. When that did not work I deleted the plexmediaserver.pid file and logged in via web and claimed it that way. During all instances I stopped Plex from running, deleted the file and restarted plex.
It was turned off. I turned it on, restarted all devices and bingo. I would have never figured that one out. Thank you.
Cannot thank you enough. Been trying to figure it out for a few days reading all and any blog I could. Good to know about the DNS cache. I will keep in mind for the next time.
