My PMS in Synology (Model 916+) has been working with no problem for years. Usually access via plex.tv and from multiple devices. Today could not see server or any server settings. I tried the steps in the FAQ including removing the server from the device list, deleting the recommended attributes in Preferences.XML, restarting the server, logging out and back in. I get the same issue (no mention of server in menu) when logging in via plex.tv or via http://<local-ip>:32400/web. The server local ip is in the same subnet as my laptop.
Additional info - I am running DSM 6. I also tried updating PMS - when this first happened I was running 1.27, I updated to 1.32 but the issue remained.
Debug logging has been disabled. The log files contain little information.
Note that Plex must be able to communicate with plex.tv hosts in order to be claimed. If it cannot, the claiming process will fail.
In Synology Control Panel → Regional Options → Time, synchronize the NAS with a NTP server. This is a simple way to test that the NAS can resolve names and reach servers on the Internet. Even if it says “Normal,” go ahead and click “Update Now.”

If so, try the [User Credential Reset](https://github.com/ChuckPa/UserCredentialReset) utility.
You can also try:
Stop Plex Media Server
Rename Preferences.xml to Preferences.old
Restart Plex.
Claim Plex via http://syno_ip_address:32400/web.
The server will have default settings (including debug level logging). You’ll have to reconfigure remote access settings, when scheduled tasks run, etc (the stuff stored in Preferences.xml).
I tested the ability of NAS to connect to NTP server and was able to update successfully
I ran the UserCredentialReset script and get the following output:
