Hello,
I have a Shield Tv for 6 months.
Although I regularly encounter the crash of the Plex Media Server (it never takes more than 4 or 5 days), which forces me to restart the shield, overall it worked.
Even if having to restart the Shield when you are not at home is complicated.
About a week ago, the Shield Tv server was not accessible, so I restarted the Shield, even several times but ditto.
So I concluded that the server was really out of order.
In the application settings (on the Shield TV) I erased the data from the Plex Media Server as well as the cache, so I created a new server.
For information, I put the database (very important) on a USB stick connected to the Shield.
I tried to export the data on the USB stick I used until then, but the Shield and Plex no longer seems to recognize the key.
I tried formatting the USB key from the PC but still the same. Odd, because the key works without problems on my PC.
So I tried to use a new USB key (USB 3 32GB).
As soon as the new Plex Server is created, I tell Plex (on the Shield) to put the data on the USB stick.
Until then, it’s OK.
Then from the PC, I create my media library.
And there it turns, it takes hours to scan and find the jackets (when he finds them because it is so long that it seems to have trouble writing on the USB key).
If I do not use a USB key, the scan is done normally.
But if after the scans of the media library, I want to move the data on a USB key via the Plex application of the Shield TV, and it’s endless. It runs for hours without success.
If we interrupt, the media library is planted and we must start all over again.
It becomes more and more complicated to use the Shield TV’s Plex Server.
It’s really painful.
Too bad because it is an application (when it works) pleases the whole family.
I do not understand because on my NAS Synology (which can not encode on the fly) the application is relatively stable.
If you have a track to help me, I’m interested …
Thank You
