Plex Media Server updates are not available in Synology's Package Center?

So, I just went ahead and I uninstalled Plex from Synology.
Unfortunately, the same error “Operation failed.” still shows up.

I have also set the trust level to any publisher… the same.

Do I need to restart the NAS or something?

You should not need to restart DSM at all but it can never hurt to do it once to be certain.

Some users are reporting that using Safari during “Manual Install” causes problems.
They report success with Chrome. I use chrome and have no issues either.

Does any of this apply to you? If not, we may need to directly query the internal DSM logs

Safari was the culprit here. I have always accessed my Synology through Safari and never thought this could be an issue.

Moreover, I installed the original Plex from Synology’s Package Center to check if all settings were kept (they were: excellent) and I just did a manual install with the Plex 64 bit version that I downloaded from Plex website and it worked fine!

At the end, Safari was the problem. Not sure if this was after DSM 6.2 update or any Safari update.

I don’t have a date. What I do have is a rather lengthy list of packaging tasks to complete and repositories are on it. :smiley:

Only update I have is we ran into trouble with one of the other NAS platforms.
It was a nasty problem too. That just got resolved. We are re-validating all the platforms.
It’s about to go Plex-Pass beta. I do not have a date at this time.

Right now, the new build system is a Forum Beta (preview) .

The next step is for it to be proper Plex Pass (for Plex Pass subscribers) beta.
The step after that is public release to all

The progression here is:

  1. Developer Alpha
  2. Developer Beta (the forum preview)
  3. Production Beta (all in place ready to be full production)
  4. Production Final release

When it becomes Plex Pass, it will be in the normal Plex Pass release announcements
