Plex Media Server Version 1.20.0.3181 on QNAP NAS: Could not create PlexData share error

Thanks ChuckPa for the reply but nope, that didn’t do it. In fact, things are just got a bit stranger.
I still see the folder in Windows Explorer but now it’s denying me access and in File Station…it still doesn’t show up.
Before the reboot, I gave admin privileges for PlexData but now I can’t even edit those privileges anymore, it’s just greyed out. Also, it doesn’t seem to be located anywhere?? Because under ‘Volume’, it’s blank??

Wouldn’t I be better off just deleting it and…try something else?

I’m getting again the error message that started this thread after the reboot :unamused:

@Chumbo

  • Stop PMS
  • Delete the shared folder (and its contents – only a link)
  • Create the share again manually wherever you want it.
  • Start PMS

As you create the shared folder manually, you can

  1. Assign File Station permissions
  2. Assign SMB permissions.
