Plex Media Server was unable to open its media database - Database folder empty

I recently received a “Plex Media Serer was unable to open its media database” error when opening the windows server. Windows 10 Home. I went through the troubleshooting steps to try and fix or remove the data base, and found that the database folder was empty.

…\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases

I uninstalled and reinstalled with the latest version [PlexMediaServer-1.28.0.5973-52ca4217f-x86] which didn’t resolve the issue where I still receive the same error when trying to open the server.

What direction can I take? Thanks in advance!

Did you change where your appdata folder is? Check your registry.

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server\LocalAppDataPath

Thank you, although I could not restore the previous db’s, I was able to remove and rebuild the library structure.
